Dang! You got shocks, pegs… lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?

Day 24 -

We left camp early today to set out towards Macks Inn (or Macks In, according to some). Along the way we stopped to check out the trumpeter swans at the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Once down to only 73 swans due to over-hunting, there are now 16,000 swans in North America. We made our easiest Divide Crossing thus far today, requiring only a couple of hundred of feet to pass into the land of tater tots. However, it was also the most confusing crossing as we entered Idaho and onto the west side of the divide while traveling due east from Montana. A quick stop at an RV village for snacks resulted in a free huge piece of chocolate cake – a life saver since Kelly was getting pretty hungry! We stayed at the Sawtelle “Resort” Motel and RV park (or Sawtell depending on which sign you read – there seems to be a bit of trouble with spelling here). We spent the rest of the evening soaking in the “resort’s” hot tub and playing cards.

Note: the title of today’s entry was taken from the movie which depicts this region so well, Napoleon Dynamite.

Chemically Powered

We’ve started a list of all the energy drinks we’ve consumed on the trip so far. Each convenience store seems to present new opportunities in this realm, and well, we just can’t pass ’em up. Some have tasted good, some bad, others great. Just about all have made us sick to our stomachs.
